Mind and Body Work
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website to learn a little bit more about what I can offer. Life is full of changes and challenges. Sometimes we can lose a sense of who we are, or just have a sense of not feeling quite connected.
During these times it can be helpful to take some time to take a step back from the day-to-day and reset the balance. It might be that we notice something physical in ourselves, a tightness in our muscles, a feeling of anxiety in our chest or our stomach. Or it might be something in our thoughts, or emotional responses to different situations. Things just don’t feel quite right.
However the sensations and feelings appear, it is worth taking the time to listen to what our minds and bodies are telling us.

My aim is to be there alongside you when you want to make a change, perhaps to find greater calmness or clarity, gain confidence or more of a sense of ease, physically and emotionally.
My focus starts with you as a whole person. I use a holistic approach, based on your needs. All my therapies and ways of working start with a short consultation and an informed consent process.
We start by clarifying, for example, whether a talking therapy, such as hypnotherapy would be a helpful way to go, or whether a physical therapy such as therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage or Reiki (with its calming and spiritual aspect) might help to support your body’s natural self-healing process. Some therapies are complementary and can be combined, such as massage and Reiki.
If we work together using hypnotherapy and psychotherapeutic approaches, then this is a talking based approach (please note that there is no touch involved in this aspect of my therapies – it does not work in the same way as physical therapies). However, there is still a somatic element, and it can be a helpful opportunity to explore how the body responds to the mind, and vice-versa. For example, whether you are breathing easily or in a shallow way, and what might this bring our awareness to, in terms of how you are feeling?
A session of hypnotherapy might involve using talk to explore how you experience the world and what might be helpful to move forward (or to feel secure in the moment), followed by the use of hypnosis to deepen the connection between your conscious mind and your unconscious where habits, beliefs and emotional patterns can be stored.
Coaching is dynamic and future focused way of working, using talk. Sessions can be focused on any aspect of a client’s working or personal life, as I am trained in both executive and life coaching. Coaching can take place in one of my therapy practices, but is also more flexible so can be outdoors in nature, in the workplace or in a quiet café.

I am Russell, a registered hypnotherapist (CNHC) with additional psychotherapeutic training. I am a qualified teacher, support the teaching of adults in hypnotherapy and Reiki, and have extensive training in several modalities of mind and body work.
I work with adult clients in Teddington and Hampton Wick, in the London Borough of Richmond, and also online.
